Topic and Annotated Bibliography
For this phase of your project you’ll: 1) select a topic; 2) submit an annotated bibliography.
Choose a Topic
Select a course-related topic that is related to globalization and affecting the country selected country of “Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan”, and indicate what it is, thus “My proposed topic is Green Revolution.” Another one from the list below can be chosen if more suitable
Possible topics include (but are not limited to) globalization, global citizenship, global culture, hybridization, neo-liberal economic principles, economic development/growth, structural adjustment programs (or any one structural adjustment program such as currency devaluation, or privatization of a public service, removal of tariffs) economic globalization, foreign direct investment, global commodity chains, migration, hunger, poverty, health/disease, the Green Revolution, free trade, free trade agreements or a specific free trade agreement such as NAFTA, or CAFTA, free trade zones, assembly plants, transnational corporations, export processing zones, the IMF, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, gender (e.g. dismantling of traditional gender relations, gender inequality, female genital mutilation), IGO/NGO (that is the work of one in your selected country), environmentalism, human trafficking, etc. (CHOOSE 1)
Annotated Bibliography
Next submit an annotated bibliography of 4 SCHOLARLY sources (research articles or book chapters/books). An annotated bibliography is a list of sources, each of which is followed by a brief summary (150 words approximately) of the source. Check the guidelines in the link below.
Document your sources as you would in a bibliography. Your citation has to be MLA format.
NOTE: Your sources MUST be SCHOLARLY – that is, research articles, book chapters, or books that are the products of scholarly research. Newspapers, magazines websites (even formal sites such as that for the World Bank), and blogs are not considered scholarly sources. Neither, of course, is Wikipedia.
