I’m going to copy and paste instructions from the syllabus to give you an idea of what’s going on. We can get into the nitty gritty later. My professor has
included a “Project Plan Example” that I’ll upload to the control panel after I’ve submitted the order. Instructions are as follows:
Once you’ve defined or re-committed to your PA 960 plan for your topic, identified the topic significance, recruited your advisory committee, and submitted
the Topic and Advisory Committee Assignment, you can proceed to define your Project Plan. Please see below for details of your Project Plan and familiarize
yourself with the assignment’s expectations.
The goal of this assignment is to prepare everything you will need to finish writing your journal article in PA 962 and your polished article in PA 963. Include
the following elements in your project plan, using AMA style requirements for assignments (e.g., title page, introduction, body, conclusion,
citations/references, appendices).
Briefly restate your topic and rationale.
Identify your target audience (e.g., primary care PAs, hospitalist providers).
Name the journal to which you plan to submit your article and include the link to its author instructions. In the text of your paper, please state that you
confirmed that PAs can be first authors. What is the writing style that is required (AMA vs. APA, etc.)? What is the font size? What is the font type? Is an
abstract required? Has anything been published on your topic recently in the journal you selected? Your journal should support your selected target audience.
For example: If your target audience is dermatology PAs, then your logical journal would be Journal of Dermatology Physician Assistants (JDPA). If you want
to reach PAs, then JAAPA would a logical choice. If you want to reach orthopedic PA’s, the Journal of Orthopedics for Physician Assistants would be a good
choice.
Clarify which type of article you are writing (e.g., clinical review, CME, case report, etc.)? What is the required word count for the type of article you are
writing? Does the reference page count in the word count? Does the abstract count as part of the word count?
Write a detailed outline of your article, including all major elements the journal’s author instructions require. For the article’s main body, include subheadings
for the outline. Review Level of Headings in the Student Guide to AMA Style found in week 2.
List one or two key tables or figures that you may plan on creating to emphasize key points or make the manuscriipt more concise and clear.
On the reference page, Include all the references you used to complete this assignment. All references in the reference section must be cited in-text.
As an appendix (Appendix 1), include a list of all the references that you have found and plan to possibly use for the final article that you will submit in PA
962. This appendix should augment the annotated bibliography that was created in PA 960. They should be formatted in AMA style.
