FIELDWORK ASSIGNMENT #2 Ethnographic Research = 70 pts
Paper Due October 28
You will choose one local dance community and conduct a short ethnographic research study that analyzes their cultural dance form. You must either attend an event within that community or find an online event/livestream or video to observe and assess the dance form’s movement practices.
Once you have observed this community, you will compose an annotated bibliography with scholarly articles found on the chosen dance form that supports your observations. You must include five (5) scholarly resources in this annotated bibliography. Your bibliography should have a detailed summary of the main points of the article, an evaluation of the reliability and usefulness of the source, and a reflection for how it contributes and supports your thoughts on the chosen dance community. Successful annotated bibliographies will answer the questions in the rubric below.
Finally, you will learn and teach specific movements (at least 3) from this dance form during the in-class “Informance” on December 2.

Reflection: Was this source helpful to you? How does it help you shape your argument? How can you use this source in your research project? Has it changed how you think about your topic? 10 points
Citations: Are at least five articles from scholarly sources provided? Are
sources properly cited in accordance with MLA/APA formatting? 10 points
Grammar, Spelling, & Organization: Is the paper free of careless grammatical and spelling mistakes? Does it follow the assignment instructions in being typed as well as word length, spacing, and font? 10 points
