Essays must include at least two works of art. They should show evidence of research beyond the assigned reading. You are being assessed on your ability to construct a scholarly argument. Please see the pdf file attached for details about how to write a research paper. Essays should be at least 1500 words.

Key factors that you will be assessed on:

– – Visual analysis using appropriate terminology

– – Ability to situate art in relevant historical contexts (social, religious, political, etc.)

– – Ability to write in a structured and scholarly manner

– – Creative thought and independent analysis
