My paper will mainly discuss the connection between the feminist themes that take place in The Handmaid’s Tale, and how those connect to popular
feminist ideas at the time, with a specific focus on Andrea Dworkin and Gayle Rubin. I will be discussing works written by them to better understand the
feminist ideology of this time and to further understand the Handmaid’s Tale from a new lens. Along with this I will compare the feminist ideas presented in
The Handmade’s Tail and compare them to feminist themes presented in Dostoevsky’s Notes from Underground.
