was most responsible for your decision to pursue a career as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). How have you prepared yourself personally and
professionally for graduate study as a nurse anesthetist resident at FIU? Five years out from graduation, where do you see yourself and how will others see
you? So this is what I have compiled so far, perhaps it will aid in writing a response to these questions on my behalf: My primary professional experience that
is most responsible for my decision to pursue a career as a CRNA is …. witnessing CRNA care for a patient during one of my clinical rotations while
completing my ASN degree. I witnessed the critical role a CRNA played during labor and I admired how the CRNA was able to focus solely on one patient
versus juggling care for multiple patients at one time. I have a strong desire and eagerness to serve and care for others. As a CRNA, I will be able to directly
center my attention on one patient at a time, concentrating solely on them. I cannot think of a more focused professional role as a patient advocate. While
working in our 24-bed MICU, I have had the opportunity to care for a high acuity patient population and am experienced with ventilator support, ABG analysis,
EKG interpretation, various ventricular assisted devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, transvenous pacemakers, EKOS, CRRT/CVVHD, hypothermia devices,
Swan-Ganz catheters, Rotoprone therapy, and several other diagnostic and therapeutic devices. I am familiar with vasoactive drips including, Epinephrine,
Norepinephrine, Phenylephrine, Vasopressin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, Nitroprusside, as well as many other essential medications. I
have also developed a thorough understanding of these medications and their effects on cardiac output/index, SVR, PVR, PAS/PAD, PAOP, heart rate and
