10% Description of the meeting by explaining the role of evidence in determining the best clinical practice for people with alcohol abuse.

40% Description of the emotional reaction you had about the experience and the speaker.

40% Your thoughts about the experience of attending the A.A. meeting and the speaker’s message.

INSTRUCTIONS/PAPER DETAILS

1. Research the group. You can use the internet or literature distributed by the group to learn about its founding and purpose.

2. Visit one meeting of the group. Observe the group interaction.
• What is the purpose of the group? Is anyone welcome?
• How are the meetings run?
• What style of group leadership did you see?
• How much participation did you see?
• What topics were covered?
• Did it seem as if the group helped people?
• What was your overall impression of the group?
