Research Paper
The final research paper is a 6 page project on a theme or topic of your choice. You can pick from a number of themes discussed throughout the semester. I expect the papers to be well thought out with a clear thesis statement or research question to be addressed via the research conducted. You are to conduct independent research and incorporate outside sources that complement the readings you will use for this paper. This paper should be written for this Transnational Feminisms class (not psychology, sociology, etc.)
PURPOSE
The purpose of this final paper is to allow students to demonstrate their knowledge of the various themes and discourses related to Transnational Feminisms (the erotic, cycles of oppression, the body. Birth Injustice, etc). It is up to you to pick themes of your choice. Students are expected to create their own thesis or research question to be addressed throughout the paper. Please be creative with your topics.
The paper should have three major parts:
1) A major thesis statement or question that is to be presented in the paper
2) A set of 2-3 themes or questions that will help you address your thesis statement
3) Your own original perspective and/or take on the major themes discussed in the paper
The last page of your paper, not including the 6 pages, is a works-cited page or bibliography. A works cited page with 6-8 or more outside sources is to be included. In order to enhance your paper, please make sure to include quotes directly from some of the readings covered in class.

GRADING ‘CHECKLIST’
The papers will be graded in the following way:
• Clarity of thesis statement and or major question you expect to investigate. Does the paper clearly explain the main points it will be addressing?
• Organization of the paper. How well does the paper read? Are your thoughts clearly stated and organized?
• Does the paper include details and examples of material discussed in class and additional material to support your argument?
• Creativity. How creative are you in presenting your main ideas?
• Grammar and correctness
