Weather PowerPoint Presentation

• In this final project, you are going to be creating a weather forecast (similar to what you would see on your local newscast) in the form of a narrated
Powerpoint. The weather segment is one the most important parts of the local news and takes about 4-5 minutes. It is important your narration is no less
than 4 minutes, no more than 5 minutes, timing is everything in broadcasting. Your PowerPoint should at minimum contain each of the following:
• Current Conditions: e.g. temperature, humidity, pressure, winds, any precipitation
• Temperatures around the area
• Current weather map of the region detailing weather features
• Current U.S. weather map detailing major weather features
• Short term 1-3 day forecast: including high and low temperatures, chance of precipitation
• 5-7 day outlook including high/low temperatures and chance of precipitation
You can use everything you have learned throughout the semester to include in your forecast. I would recommend creating a slide for each of the bullet
points above (and any others things you want to do), with maps and cool graphics to show your information. Then record your narration over each slide
remembering to stay within the allotted time. Upload your final narrated PowerPoint to the link posted on Blackboard by the due date and it is worth 200
points.
Be sure to look at your favorite TV meteorologist and see how they present the weather in that time frame. They will provide a model of how to do it. The only
difference is that you are not going to be in front of the camera, just providing the voice-over.
