U- 3D Mapping with Spherical Cameras

The paper is about use of the processed images of spherical cameras for display and mapping purposes.

For the purpose of display, a spherical camera requires the images to be projected onto a well-defined reference surface which can be used to view the mosaicked image set.

In terms of mapping, the camera requires some form of positioning and orientation so that the image vectors are georeferenced. A GPS / IMU combination could be employed for this purpose.
