This is your opportunity to design the perfect high school. Identify the features of a school that are related to high achievement and optimal social and
emotional development. Decide what the teachers should be like ad what qualities they have that encourage high achievement. Use the following questions
as a guide for developing your school:
1. What is the enrollment?
2. Describe the physical aspects of the school. What are the buildings like?
3. Describe the teachers. What approach to educating students do these teachers have? How do they manage the classroom?
4. Describe the person-environment fit and how it applied in your school
5. What extracurricular activities are offered?
6. How are the parents involved? How does the school encourage involvement?
7. How is the progress of the students monitored?
8. What other aspects of the school – faculty, students, parents, etc. – are important?
