Task Overview
Assessment 3 comes in two parts:
– The first part (marked) is a video-recorded discussion around the risk assessment you conducted for Assessment 2;
– The second part (formative, not marked) is a real-time, one-on-one follow-up discussion with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) (one of your lecturers), with the aim of formatively discussing the work you have done for Assessment 2 (report) and Assessment 3 (video presentation) and help you fill potential gaps in risk management theory and practice.
Part 1: Video-recording
Overview
As per the memo from your Chief Risk Officer (see above), present the findings of your risk assessment (Assessment 2) in a way that provides a clear set of recommendations for implementing the risk treatment strategies you defined in your report. To do this, you will need to clearly and concisely describe the disturbance, how you determined your evaluation of the risk, and any important information that should be considered before the CRO takes your recommendations to the senior management team.
An important element of the task is to be critically reflective of the report you have written. Be honest about any limitations to your analysis, or areas you thought could be improved. If you had to create some assumptions about the threat/disturbance or the UAV Challenge event itself, be sure to note these in your discussions for the CRO.
What to do
Record your discussion (a self-recorded ‘monologue’) on any video-taking device (a phone, tablet, webcam or video camera will suffice – you can typically borrow video equipment from HiQ for assessment purposes, if you give them a couple of days of notice). The recording should be a maximum of 10 minutes (we stop watching/grading at 10 minutes; the video does not need to be 10 minutes, if you feel less time is sufficient).
The video can be uploaded to Blackboard (as an .mp4), or to YouTube (if you select to upload on YouTube, email the weblink to i.bongiovanni@qut.edu.au as well as m8.lee@qut.edu.au BEFORE the due date/time). Also, please upload the video on YouTube as “unlisted”.
The structure of your discussion is your choice, based on how you think you will be able to best carry the message you want your CRO to capture on your risk assessment. Please, look at the CRAs below for further reference.

Your video must be submitted before 9am, Monday 23 October 2017. The same deadline applies if you chose to send the weblink to your YouTube video to i.bongiovanni@qut.edu.au as well as m8.lee@qut.edu.au
Part 2: Follow-up discussion (optional, not marked)
Overview
Following on from your video discussion, you will have a chance to further discuss the work you have done in Assessment 2 and Assessment 3, and in general in the whole MGB341, with one of your lecturers. This will allow you to fill potential gaps in your understanding of the basic concepts of risk management, from both a theoretical and practical perspective. The maximum duration of the one-on-one discussion will be around 5 minutes.

If you decide to attend the follow-up discussion, please send an email to i.bongiovanni@qut.edu.au before the class in week 13 (Thursday 26th October). Then simply turn up to your enrolled class. Your lecturers will be available to discuss your work in Assessments 2 (feel free to bring a copy of your report) and 3 and, in general, in the whole MGB341 course.
