RESEARCH PROPOSAL

 

 

Task Details/Description:

 

An individual project proposal. This should include:

 

  • Aim – what the project aims to achieve

  • Context and background – outlining the problem under investigation and why the project is needed – outlining the organizational context of the proposed work (if applicable)

  • Objectives – listing the steps needed to achieve the research aim

  • An initial critical review of relevant literature and how the literature informs the research design

  • An explanation of the data needed to achieve the research objectives, and a justification of the methods proposed to obtain the necessary data

  • Brief review of any potential ethical issues arising from the project and the practical steps you propose to take to avoid harm occurring as a result of your proposed research

  • A task list summarizing and sequencing the programme of work needed to complete the project

  • References cited

 

Maximum length 3,000 words, excluding references.

 

This assignment provides an opportunity for course members to demonstrate, in a practical context, the extent to which they have understood and are able to apply the principles, concepts and methods introduced in the module.

 

The criteria by which it will be assessed relate directly to the intended learning outcomes of this module.

 

Individual feedback on performance in relation to each section of the proposal will be provided on a tailored version of the standard coursework feedback sheet.

1.     Present and communicate research proposals in an effective manner

2.     Evaluate critically the research reports prepared by others, and assess the reliability and validity of their findings

3.     Design and carry out reliable and valid research studies, through the selection and application of appropriate research methodologies

4.     Analyse and interpret data for the purposes of generating research findings, conclusions and implications for business and management practices
