Design a study or assessment of the effectiveness of a new university website in an APA research format. The website is not yet launched, it will be replacing
St. Cloud State University’s website.
Purpose: This assignment combines all the skills and concepts we’ve been discussing this semester: locating, evaluating, and synthesizing current research
literature; designing research studies; and making research-to-practice connections. Assessment proposals are short, persuasive pieces of writing that need
to not only convey the information but do so in a manner that intrigues the reader (makes them want to hear more!) and shows that you are an expert in your
topic.
One of the important pieces of advice that Dr. Ikegwuonu gave is to think about operationalization; in other words, how to obtain data about the effectiveness
of the website.
Requirements: The word limit is a maximum of 2500 words, excluding the title page and the references. Each proposal must include: a brief introduction and
literature review (including at least 5 empirical research sources) about the topic; research questions; a methods section outlining the proposed assessment
activities (e.g., surveys, interviews, who will you collect data from, etc.). This section must include 2 methodological citations. Conclude the proposal with a
timeline for completing the assessment (remember, you’ll be completing an assessment next semester!).
