History of American Immigration – Many ethnic and national groups have come to America. Some hold on to their language and traditions and live in
enclaves, isolating themselves to some degree from mainstream society, or in some cases, totally rejecting the ways and language of the “old country” and
merging into the common culture. Research the Japanese and two other ethic groups, and compare and contrast similarities and differences.
Use “Snow Falling On Cedars” to discuss the Japanese and tie it into the book.
