The third and last step in completing the final project is to submit a project paper that describes your activism, outreach, or service.
Points/Questions to Address
In the Final Project Paper, you should write a narrative essay that includes the following sections:
Background and Rationale for your Project
Explain why you decided to address this topic.
Include background information about the topic including its significance and the most current statistics and/or information surrounding the topic. This
section can include and expand on the statement of significance that you prepared and submitted in the proposal for this portion.
Activism, Outreach, or Service Methods
Briefly review how you planned and prepared for your project.
If you were involved with an organization or agency, describe that group and how you became involved with them.
Describe how you conducted activism, outreach, or service related to this topic, including the specific activities you completed.
Activism project: For an activism project, explain the position or outcome you advocated for.
Outreach approach: For an outreach approach, explain the outcome(s) you hoped to achieve among your participants.
Service project: For a service project, explain the benefit provided to others through your service.
Describe any materials or other resources that you developed or used to support your project. Note, your instructor may request that you submit copies of
materials or resources you describe as documentation of your project.
Reflection
Summarize what you learned from this project.
Present your personal opinion of and reaction to the experience, and an explanation of why you feel the way you do.
Address why this project was (or was not) a useful experience in furthering your understanding of sexuality issues.
Conclusion
End with a brief review of why your topic is important and what changes and/or work you hope to see with regard to this topic in the future.
Reference List
Include a reference list in APA format
Attachments (optional unless requested by your instructor)
Include examples of materials you developed to support your project, if applicable or requested by your instructor.
You may include photos or other documentation related to your project.
All answers and conclusions must be supported, as appropriate, with evidence and resources/citations using APA. Reference the Writing Resources for
assistance.
You must submit your paper to Turnitin, using this drop box. Please be aware that your paper will be checked for plagiarism through Turnitin. Thus, make sure
everything is in your own words and that anything you paraphrase has been paraphrased appropriately. Make sure that you submit the correct file(s). Contact
