Prepare a Behavior Intervention Plan

Using the resources from this week, you will create a behavior intervention plan. You will use the data from the sample Functional Behavior Assessment
(FBA) from the website in this week’s resources, which is where data is collected, and write an intervention plan based on that data, where you will analyze
and interpret the data. It is important to understand how to conduct an FBA and a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) as they are required in IDEA. Your plan
should be organized with the following headings:
-Reason for Referral,
-Functional Behavior Assessment,
-Target Behaviors,
-Antecedents and Strategies, and
-Rewards and Consequences (Mager, n.d.).
The reason for referral is simply a summary of what behavior(s) prompted the referral. The FBA section would be a brief overview of the sample FBA.
SMART Goals
SMART Goals: S; specific, M; meaningful, A; action-oriented, R; realistic, T; timely.
The target behaviors section is where you will write 1-3 SMART goals regarding the behaviors (Grossman, 2020; Hedin & DeSpain, 2018).
Antecedents and strategies are what factors in the classroom are prompting the behavior(s) and what strategies are utilized to limit or control the
antecedents.
Finally, rewards and consequences refer to the rewards students receive when following the rules and the consequences when they do not. What happens
when the student continues the behaviors you are trying to reduce or eliminate and what happens when they are successful in reaching the goals you
outlined in the target behaviors section.
Please remember to view this entire assignment and process through an equity and fairness lens. As you read about how data is collected, make sure it was
done equitably without bias. Also, it is important to follow this same process as you analyze and interpret data. It is important to question the collection of
data at every step, and then, explain how you have ensured equity in this process.
