1.EACH student will complete a Clinical Application Paper. a) Papers MUST follow the templates provided. b) Referenced following AMA style guidelines c) Papers MUST be typed and submitted via email by midnight on Sunday November 27, 2022. d) Maximum of four (4) pages, not including title or reference page e) 12 point Times New Roman font, double-spaced. f) NO Drafts will be accepted. g) This is an INDIVIDUAL assignment (1) Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to is to provide a research and scientific writing experience that demonstrates the student’s ability to search, interpret and evaluate medical literature, investigate a clinically relevant research question, and present the results in a written format exhibiting organization, logical consistency, depth of knowledge, and the ability to both apply that answer to general patient care and to a specific patient who is dealing with that particular clinical issue. (2) Goal: The goal is to evaluate the student’s ability to utilize evidence-based medicine to better care for both the general population and individual patients with consideration of the patient’s preferences and clinical circumstances. (3) Process: Students will ask a patient-centered clinical question, complete a literature search to select high quality peer-reviewed research articles on human studies, analyze findings, answer the clinical question, and apply the answer to recommend patient care decisions for both that particular patient and the general population while explaining the differences in care recommendation between the two. (4) Length, Font, and Style: The paper body is to be a maximum of four (4) pages in 12 point, double spaced, Times New Roman; this does not include the title or reference pages. The paper is to be written in AMA format following all appropriate guidelines. (5) References: A minimum of four (4) reliable resources (two (2) must be research articles) cited in AMA format. a.
