PebblePad Guidance for students
For this module you are required to make a Workbook / Portfolio in PebblePad which you will share for assessment by your tutors. Only a single Portfolio asset will be accepted for each assessment, but you can add or link to any other assets you wish in your Portfolio. Please see the details on each assessment for what is required for each assessment.
To create a Workbook / Portfolio
To make a Portfolio open the main menu (the three lines shown in the top left of Pebble+) then select ‘Get creative’ and then ‘Create a portfolio’.
Newly created portfolios start with a single blank page by default, which you can rename and add content to. You can use this page as an introduction to your Portfolio and can make text links on it to Word and PDF documents (e.g. a text link to your Report, required in the final summative assessment) in your asset store – see point 1 below.
Adding content to your Workbook / Portfolio
There are two ways to add existing assets to your portfolio, depending on which kind of asset you want to add.
1. To include Word documents, PDFs etc. in your Portfolio you should first upload these into your asset store (main menu > Upload a file). Then create a text link to these assets by highlighting the text you want to make into a link and on the formatting toolbar which pops up, then choosing Link > Asset.
2. To add the Action Plan, the UK-SPEC Skills Matrix and other PebblePad templates in your asset store, click the + symbol at the top of your portfolio then choose ‘Add existing asset’ and select an asset from the list.
To share a Portfolio for assessment
1. Open your asset store
2. click the ‘i’ icon next to the portfolio you want share for assessment
3. click the ‘I want to…’ button and select ‘Share’
4. click ‘For assessment’
5. Choose the “Engineering & Society” workspace then select the appropriate assignment (you should see a green tick if you are able to submit to this assessment. If you see a red cross you are probably trying to submit the wrong type of asset, i.e. not a portfolio asset)
6. Tick the box to agree to the assessment terms and click the ‘Share for assessment’ button
In your asset store the ‘shared for assessment icon’ next to your portfolio will be highlighted, confirming it has been successfully shared.
