Select a clinical practice guideline of your choice, from any ambulance service. • State the evidence which supports the interventions within the CPG. • Analyse the CPG to determine how well supported it is by the evidence – o what is the level of evidence, o is the evidence relevant to the setting of paramedic practice o how strongly aligned is the CPG with the evidence • Undertake a risk analysis of the CPG o what could go wrong o how likely is an adverse outcome o what could be possible adverse consequences o Two pages maximum (plus references). • Back up your discussion with references. Notes: • Use of dot points and commonly used medical abbreviations is allowed. • Justify your rationales and interventions by citing appropriate references. • Note that clinical practice guidelines should not be your sole source of information; source the evidence from primary sources.
