Nurse Practice Act Comparison – 15%
Following the Week #3 class, you will complete a two state comparison of Nurse Practice Acts (NPAs) from
an approved list. Questions to be answered in your comparison will be discussed in Class #3 and posted
on Moodle. An additional contribution to state comparisons will be made by each student in response to
two other students’ original posts. This will give the whole class an appreciation of how NPAs can differ.
Nurse Practice Acts can be found either through National Council of State Boards website or through each
state’s government website.
Postings are expected to demonstrate comprehension of assigned reading material with thought given to
implication to one’s nursing practice or experience. Citation of at least two credible sources is required for
each original posting, which can include sources of the practice acts found for this assignment. A reference
list should be included at the conclusion of each post, including assigned readings used to generate the
post. An example of a nurse practice act citation and reference will be provided in Moodle.
