Directions: Look for at least two recent newspaper reports (within the past 6 months) of incidents of prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination. Submit the article (or link to it, if online) as well as a typewritten essay in which you answer the following questions. Be sure to bring in concepts in the textbook and discussed in lecture as you write. Your essay should be thorough in answering the questions (a total of at least 3-4 pages).

Briefly explain the incident.

Describe the motives behind these actions.

What are some possible personality factors associated with the incident?

What aspects about the situation may have accounted for the incident?

Describe the costs to the victims.

Describe ways that the incident could have been prevented.
