Step 1: Read “How Leaders Create and Use Networks” by Herminia Ibarra; Mark Hunter
Step 2: Write a 2-3 page paper with a brief summary of learning points (this should not exceed 1/3 of your
paper) and the remaining portion of the paper focused on what is your predominant form of networking
(operational, personal or strategic) and how you can elevate your overall personal network.
Step 3: Create a “Wheel and Spoke” diagram of your network. (see Wheel and Spoke Instructions below).
Step 4: Submit assignment in Canvas. Points are awarded not on participation but quality of work and
completeness of the assignment. Please put thought and effort into this paper, as your score will not only
be higher but you will gain more long-term benefits as well.
