Consider the irony of the fireman compared to what firemen do in the real world. Consider the naming of the three chapters, what’s their significance and
their purpose to the story.

— This book contains an argument about the human condition and how it’s affected by “modern life.” Consider how Bradbury does this, and critique him as
necessary. How does he make the reader sympathetic to his views?
Potential Themes and Topics
— What’s missing in Montag’s life? Why aren’t they happy or fulfilled? Use the six dimensions of health to assist you. What does the text have to say about
relationships between people and families, societies, and themselves?
— Explore and analyze Montag’s awakening. Is this Bradbury’s allegory of the cave?
— What is the book saying about being different in society?
— How does the book critique on modern life? What is Bradbury warning us about?
—What does the book say about our reliance on technology?

Other tips:
1. Avoid first and second person.
Don’t summarize the whole book. I’ve read it. Create an argument about it.
Quotation integration is very important. Be sure to include enough context to introduce the quote, why you’re using it, who’s speaking and where it is in the
book.
