2. Discuss the emergence of punk music in London. Include in your answer: political and
economic conditions of the time; The Sex Pistols, The Clash. Include a lyrical analysis of
at least 1 song from either of these bands.
3. Discuss punk music in at least one of these cities (Washington DC, Austin, Toronto, or
Mexico City); how does this style of punk music reflect its particular time and place?
Compare it to the punk music of NYC and London. (cite the O’Connor reading at least
