Additional Guidance on Achieving Grades |
|
Please give guidance to the learners on how they may be considered for a Merit or a Distinction |
|
Task 1 – Additional Guidance for a Merit:
A very good grasp of the relevant knowledge base must be demonstrated. Relevant theories must be analysed with either breadth or depth. A broad range of evaluation theories must be used with a very good discussion of the strengths and limitations of the theories and a very good consideration of criticisms made of his theories by other psychologists. The essay will include a very good range of evaluative points (which may mean that any descriptions of theory are concise.) The essay will discuss and assess the implications of the theories in relation to child development, toys and early year’s settings very well, giving examples and analysis. The essay will be well researched with the use of book(s) as well as the internet. As a whole there needs to be a very good response to the demands of the assignment. It must be largely properly referenced and largely accurately written.

Task 1- Additional Guidance for a Distinction:
An excellent grasp of the relevant knowledge base must be demonstrated. Relevant theories must be analysed with both breadth and depth. A broad range of evaluation theories must be used with a excellent discussion of the strengths and limitations of the theories, a thorough consideration of criticisms made of the theories by other psychologists, alongside an excellent use of critical framework to evaluate key theories. The essay will include an extremely good range of evaluative points (which may mean that any descriptions of theory are concise.) The essay will include an excellent in depth discussion and assessment of the implications of the theories in relation to child development, toys and early year’s setting, giving excellent examples and analysis. The essay will be very well researched with the use of book(s) as well as the internet. As a whole there needs to be an excellent response to the demands of the assignment, with good use of the referencing system and it will be extremely well written.
