The goal of this writing assignment is that you demonstrate your understanding of degree requirements because later on you will need to explain how you
have addressed them. Don’t feel that you need a fully-developed “section” of an essay here. It’s okay to submit different paragraphs, which may be a bit
disjointed at this point.
The easiest place to start is to write about the SUNY General Education Requirements. Choose 7 of 10 fixed areas and explain what learning you’re using to
fulfill each area.
Writing about the ESC requirements for your registered program is a bit more complex; they can be addressed in multiple ways.
Here is a process that may help:
Read the requirements appropriate to the type of degree you want to pursue.

Identify credits that you are using to meet each. These may be transfer credits, PLA credits or ESC classes.
Summarize the learning you have gained or hope to gain as part of each required course.
