Electronic Circuits

Coursework Assignment: Electronic Circuits 2018 The main aim of this CA exercise it to further develop skills encountered within Engineering Practice. You are required to write a technical report which communicates scientific information in a clear and concise manner. It will also serve as a demonstration of your ability to prepare experiments and both present and analyse data acquired. You are required to develop a lab handout pack for the highlighted topic in the following list: • Ohms Law • Kirchoffs current law • Diode • Zener Diode • LED • Digital Logic Gates: AND, NAND, XOR • Digital Logic Gates: OR, NOR, XOR • Combinational Logic • DeMorgans Theorems • 555 Timer • Transistor: Base Bias – Mid-point Biasing • Transistor: Voltage divider Bias – Mid-point Biasing The lab handout pack must consist of the following: • Student Lab Exercise Handout • Completed Tutor Lab Exercise Handout with answers • Completed simulated files with results The Lab Exercise should provide an experimental foundation for the theoretical concepts associated with the topic that you will be assigned. It should also inform students of the experimental apparatus required, the scientific method to carry out the experiment, and any required methods of data analysis. Typically, a lab handout will provide students with a purpose, a procedure, relevant circuit diagrams, data tables, a conclusion section, with the potential for follow-up questions. As a result, students using the handout are typically guided through a lab experience using a predefined structure. The handout – with its procedures, structured data tables and follow-up questions – becomes the guide to the student. Possible handout sections include the following: • Introduction • Theory – Theoretical results • Simulations – Simulated results • Experimental apparatus • Experimental components • Procedure – Circuit diagram • Experimental results – Table – Graph • Conclusion
