One of the key objectives of sociology is being able to recognize the processes and the patterns of how our social world works. Often, in our examination, we start to understand the dynamics of many social problems that society faces.  This will be your opportunity to make your voice heard.  As Ghandi once said, be the change you want to see in the world.

In this essay, you will be writing an opinionative piece on a social issue society faces today.  Using a sociological perspective, you will be writing a letter to your congressmen addressing and/or critiquing a social issue.  In this letter, you will be applying sociological theories and language to support your opinions. 

The essay should be written in APA format (1” margins, 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, double spaced) and should be 2-3 pages in length.
