EASY WORK Each peer response should be no less than 160 words each. Please reply to the 2 peers listed attached. They have responded to week 11
readings attached. Be succinct. Each student must post their initial post first before they can see other students’ initial posts. During the remaining days of
each week, each student is required to post at least 2 substantial responses to their peers’ posts. Each week’s discussion thread will be closed at the end of
each week; late postings in Canvas will not be possible. Postings will not be accepted as email attachments. Students are expected to complete the
exercises on time every week. Repeatedly posting last-minute responses to peer postings that simply repeat earlier postings or that include statements such
as, “I agree, and don’t really have anything else to add to the discussion,” or, “Sorry, I’m always coming in late, and I’m late again this week,” will result in the
loss of discussion participation points every week this occurs. It’s important that each class member participates actively in the discussions at a level that
fosters both individual learning and the learning of others. Brief remarks like “I agree”, “Thank you for sharing your thoughts”, “You made a great point!” are
necessary for constructive discussions. I therefore encourage you to use brief remarks like these whenever appropriate in your responses to your peers.
However, bear in mind that brief remarks like these do NOT count as substantial contributions. To qualify as substantial contributions, you need to provide
new and significant insights that can move the discussion forward by, for instance, eliciting new thinking beyond what has already been said. One example
would be: “I agree with what (Student A) said about (Subject B). I also think that an additional factor (Issue C) should be considered as well because of
(Reason D).” Another example would be: “Thank you (Student X) for sharing your insight. I however respectfully disagree based on the following facts (Facts
Y and Z) as evidenced in the following credible sources (Sources 1 and 2).” Grading of discussion posts: Each week’s posts are worth a total of 4 points in
the final grade, including 2 points for the initial posting by Tuesday (1 point deduction if posted after Thursday) of each week, and 2 points for the follow-up
posts (1 point per follow-up post). Posts will be graded along the following general dimensions: (1) the relevance, quality, and professionalism of
contributions to online discussions; (2) effectiveness of prompting participation from peers; (3) quality of follow-up questions, insights, and responses to
other students’ questions and comments. The following rubric applies to both the initial and follow-up posts: · 2.0 points (Excellent): Demonstrates
excellence in grasping key concepts; respectful and constructive critiques of others’ works; stimulates discussion; provides sample citations and/or Web
links for support of opinions; readily offers new interpretations of discussion material; ideas are expressed clearly, concisely; uses appropriate vocabulary.
