In no more than 300 words, evaluate the study’s internal (causal!) validity (NOT generalizability). Was the study design appropriate for testing the causal
effect of interest? Did the authors measure what they intended to measure? Can you identify any confounds or other validity threats that weaken your
confidence in the findings?
In no more than 100 words, make 2-3 suggestions for strengthening the study’s design in a replication. Your suggestions should:
use terminology from our course,
address the issues you raised, and
be specific (i.e., “Use a stronger design” or “Use better measures” are NOT sufficient)
