PA 505, Assignment #3
Revised 2022-03-15 to add an optional alternative assignment
The third skills assignment in this course will be to complete ONE of two possible
assignments. Each student may choose for themselves which assignment they wish to
complete. Please note that the first option (Regression Models for Program Evaluation) is the
original Assignment #3 that was provided to you at the beginning of the semester. The second
option (Developing an Online Survey) has been added for any students who prefer this
alternative option.
Whether you choose option #1 or option #2, please upload the completed assignment
deliverable to the Assignment #3 assignment folder on D2L by the due date noted in the
syllabus (1700 hrs on Friday, 1 April 2022).
OPTION #1: Regression Models for Program Evaluation
See the case study document, The Effect of Academic Misconduct Workshops on Repeat
Violations. Review this case study and the statistical models that are shown. In a brief write up
(no more than 500 words), answer the six questions posed on the last page of the case study.
OPTION #2: Developing an Online Survey
This is a self-guided assignment that will help you learn how to design and implement an
online survey using Qualtrics. All members of the UA community have access to this very useful
tool. Please see the materials posted on the D2L content folder for the date of our survey
design self-study (2022-03-22) – here you will find a Qualtrics tutorial as well as some
supplemental slides. Additionally, there is a supplemental reading on survey design in your
selected readings folder (the Newman reading, listed in the syllabus).
To complete this assignment, go through the tutorial (file name “QualtricsTurorial.pdf”)
located in this folder. Complete the exercise in Part 2 (replicate a survey developed for the
evaluation of Wyoming State Parks). Develop this survey in Qualtrics per the instructions. Put a
link to the survey into a Word or PDF file and upload this to D2L for your Assignment #3
submission.
