Dance of Istanbul Blog
Create a blog introducing one specific aspect of the dance of Istanbul from the 16th century to the present.
Focus theme
Make sure that your blog is not bringing general information covering dance in Istanbul in the last 500 years. But a specific aspect/topic/perspective you will
focus on regarding dance in Istanbul.
Organize your entire blog according to this specific aspect – something that stayed with you during the whole course. Something that you find interesting and
would like to explore and would like to bring a different perspective.
Some perspectives to consider:
The different religious sects of Istanbul who continued to use dance in their rituals
The gender issue and how it represented itself in dance
The dances of modernity and how dance was influential in creating a modern Turkish woman
These are only examples; you can use the above focus themes. However, I encourage you to present your perspective in your blog. Focus on what is
interesting for you about dance in Istanbul from the 16th century to the present, what you would like to explore, and would like others to be attracted to your
presentation.

Body of the blog
Comprise your blog with text and visual and, if required, audio material.
Reading material
Spread the reading material in 4 paragraphs, each min 250 words long (total text should be no less than 1000 words). Each paragraph needs to cover some
sub aspect of your general blog topic. Use subtitles. Each paragraph needs to be well written, following grammatical rules, and be appealing to potential
readers.
Visual material
You will need to have 4 – 6 images, a minimum of 2 videos, and audio material if required.
Make sure that you break up your text between the photos.
Citing the text
If your text is not original writing, you need to use citation. Use in-text citation if you have direct quotes. And put all of your sources at the end of your blog.
Promoting your blog
Think of if your blog had an Instagram and Twitter account attached to it. What would have been the posts you would use to attract people to come and read
your content in your blog? Add the posts to your blog. You are not required to have real Twitter and Instagram accounts in link with your blog.
