Prepare a critical review essay of a refereed academic article related to public administration. Articles must be 3 years old or less and be from peer reviewed journals such as the American Political Science Review, Public Administration Review, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, or Academy of Management Journal. Please pick a good article from one of these journals. Your essay must be structured into two sections: Background/Introduction: What are the underlying public administration issues that emerge? What is your analysis of the strength of the arguments made in the article and why? What could the general public or public / nonprofit administration practitioners learn about public administration from this article? How could the principles laid out in this article apply to “real world” issues of the day in your field of interest (or otherwise?) I have attached a sample of the format and what a good critical analysis essay should look like so please refer to that. It is important to cite course readings in your analysis. Submit both the article and essay (make sure that you submit 2 files. 1 being the essay itself and the 2nd file should be a pdf of the actual article that you used). I have also uploaded some course readings from the course that you can use to tie in to your essay and cite them if you use any of them.
