Purpose:
The purpose of the celebration of learning is for us to celebrate your achievements as a Statistics student. Recall, that the goal of this course is to ensure
that by the end of the semester you can do the following Student Learning Outcome of this Statistic course:
– summarize and display data.
– compute and interpret probabilities.
– construct confidence intervals for various parameters.
– perform various hypothesis tests.
– use correlation and regression to analyze bivariate data
– utilize technology to perform statistical tasks.
– apply the concepts and techniques of statistics to real-world applications.
The goal of the celebration of learning is to demonstrate to your professor that you have mastered the Student Learning Outcomes listed above, by
performing the following on real data that you have found.
Requirements of the COL:
For the Celebration Of Learning we are Requiring you do the following:
1. Make at least one Histogram and/or Boxplot for some of the data you collected and explain all the necessary elements of the distribution.
2. Make up a Two-Way table and run a probability question on it.
3. Find a Confidence Interval and/or Run a Hypothesis Test on your data.
4. Use the ideas from Module 26 and 27 to find a regression model on some bi-variate data.
The purpose of this page is to ensure that you have tools to find real-world data out there that interest you for the final project called the Celebration of
Learning (COL).
