Case Study – Reserve Bank Governor’s Presentation on Economics

Context
Understanding and critically evaluating real world economic examples is a very important part of economics
education. The case study provides students with the opportunity to apply all they have learnt during the semester to a recent real-world economic situation. Focus here is on macro-economics.

Instructions
Read and review the Reserve Bank Governor’s presentation to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics on 16 September 2022: https://www.rba.gov.au/speeches/2022/sp-gov-2022-09-16.html as well as the follow-up questions and answers in Hansard (link to Hansard proof from the same website). Focusing on one of the following issues:
• inflation;
• unemployment;
• household spending;
• the housing market;
critically respond based on what you have learned during this course and also suggest recommendations/solution to the issue being discussed.

Structure
The submission must be in an essay format with proper introduction and conclusion.
