For this assignment, you will need to review all three case studies.
For each, create an individual treatment plan using the provided form.
In doing this develop 3 goals (on each one) to address the areas of need that you have identified as most critical (with an obvious focus on self-regulation).
Then, create two treatment activities for each goal and address how each plan will meet the needs of the client in as many areas of development as possible
(by noting in the appropriate boxes).
On the second page, give at least two adaptation ideas for each activity noted to grade it up or down for a similar client with differing needs.
Finally, create other notes about what you may need for activities, environmental factors, etc that could impact the plan and ways to prevent difficulties
should they arise.
Additional information:
Part of the purpose of this assignment is to begin to critically think about the whole child from an occupational perspective. We should never work with a
client and only hone in on singular areas of focus. We need to look at the entire person and make sure we are incorporating all that we can to address them
holistically. In your resources, I have also included a very brief overview of what a child at each age from birth to age 6 should be able to do at each age.
There are many more comprehensive developmental scales but for the purposes of this exercise, I wanted to just highlight some of the hallmark skills so that
it was not too overwhelming.
Remember that the child you are creating a plan for is not likely performing all skills at an age-appropriate level (that is why they need you) so don’t just
create your information based on their age.
You will not address every area of development with every treatment activity (but you should address at least three areas with each). It is possible to address
all areas within an activity but it is not necessary.
Keep an obvious focus on self-regulation in your goals and treatment activities.
You do NOT fill in the Reflections section. Leave it blank. I left it on the form to emphasize to you that when truly using a treatment plan for a client that the
final step is to reflect on what went well and what you would change the next time that you do these activities for growth as a professional and to create a
path for true evidence-based practice for yourself.
To summarize:
3 goals per case study= 6 goals
2 activities per goal= 12 activities
At least 2 ways to adapt/grade each activity up or down= 24 activity modifications
Notes for each case study= 2 sets of notes
When you are ready to submit the assignment create an APA formatted cover page and combine all three treatment plans into a single document (in order,
case study A, B).
*There is a bonus Case Study C within the informaiton loaded for this assignment. You may complete it to earn up to 5 potential bonus points.
NOTE: This assignment is due on Wednesday 02/16/22 by 11:59pm.
The additional days are given due to it being due on the same week as a live lab class weekend and a busy week in all classes.
