In preparation for writing your Core Assessment Application paper, a half-page synopsis of the project
needs to be submitted. The proposed synopsis should include the following information:
the title of the film.
1. a brief description of the film and characters involved.
2. a brief definition of the problem(s) that are evident with the characters/clients that is depicted, and
3. at least two career counseling topic areas to be addressed chosen from the following list: intake
procedures, rapport building skills, proper usage of assessment, ethics and the integration of technology.
The synopsis is to be submitted and approved before proceeding with the project.

Introduction (PROJECT)
In the core assessment, you will be utilizing each of the core learning outcomes in one paper. You will
select 2 diverse characters (1 leading and 1 supporting character) from a popular culture film with career
transition or development as a major theme. Each character will be described in terms of a selected career
theory.
Directions
Each student will identify possible career counseling modalities for each of the selected characters and
describe how they would proceed in 3 career counseling sessions. Students will utilize intake procedures,
rapport building skills, proper usage of assessment, ethics and the integration of technology.
Recommendations for the clients will be outlined.

Papers should be double-spaced, 12-point font, and in APA style. The paper will be a minimum of 8 pages.
The paper should include at least six references, four of which are from refereed journals.
