This assignment is examines theoretical and practical application to improve community engagement. As you read Purinton and Azcoitia and Kendi, these
books require discussion and analysis through respectful and thoughtful dialogue that promotes greater understand of the perspective role as educational
supervisors.

A book critique is not a book synopsis—
A book critique is not simply your opinion of whether or not the book is good or bad;
A book critique is not what you find on the book jacket or Amazon.com or other book-selling website.
What Else You Need to Know to Develop a Book Critique
A book critique is a literary analysis of the book ;
A book critique is your opinion about what the author is communicating through the book and how he or she does so;
A book critique does require you to address the literary elements of the book.
Therefore, Your Critique Should Have a but not limited to.

Title
Bibliographic heading in APA format for the book;
an introduction paragraph that provides some type of background for your discussion of the book (this could include a biographical note about the author
(properly cited), a summary of the book, or background information of some kind related to the book);
Thesis that makes a literary judgment about the book which must include both a statement of theme and an indication of the primary literary element(s)
used to convey that theme
Body paragraphs with ample use of quotes and details that reflect both the theme identified and the literary elements used to do so; use page numbers.
Include text concepts and theories about personnel management and human resources; provide a minimum of three examples of how the text relates to
school and community relations.
Integration of key concepts- Use your text and supporting evidence to make your points. “ I feel and I believe” statements are not acceptable.
Conclusion that revisits your thesis and provides closure to your critique. Discuss the significance of the Kendi and school and community relations. Does
the book help develop a greater understanding about the ease or difficulty to establish relationships to promote student success?
