In this week’s lecture, I mentioned some examples of challenges to security resulting from globalization These include: Terrorism, Transnational crime, Pandemics, mass migration, financial market meltdowns, increased ethnic and religious rivalries, and even climate change has been blamed on globalization.
1. For this week discussion select a specific security threat that fits within the list of threat types in the previous sentence.
2. Then select two tools of global governance (IGOs, NGOs, International Rules and Laws, International norms or soft law, International Regimes, International Ad Hoc Groups Arrangements and Conferences, Transgovernmental Networks, Private Governance)
3. Discuss how these tools can be used to combat or address this specific security threat, hazard or challenge.
