HTY 102 Comparative Paper

Due: Sunday, October 17th on Brightspace
Choose any two Worlds Together, Worlds Apart chapters from Chapter 11 to Chapter 16.

Answer the following questions (you don’t have to give equal weight to each question):
• What were the main events—political, economic, cultural—of these chapters?
• What stayed the same and what changed over time?
• How did different people experience the same historical events differently?

General Guidelines:
• Show how the big picture (the story arc of history) and the specific examples (the people, places, and things) fit together.

• Be specific. Cite specific historical documents, individual historical figures, ideologies, geographical places, etc to illustrate your points precisely.

• NO outside sources. Use Worlds Together, Worlds Apart to support your answers. Attribute the passages you use by putting the page number in parentheses at the end of the sentence (or your preferred method of citation).
