Paper details
Students will write a 5-7 page paper where they will compare two works of art of either the same medium or
theme (Le Petit Dejeuner sur L’herbe, by Manet and Olympia, by Manet). Students will provide a visual and
historical analysis of their two works, and follow with a discussion on similarities and differences in the
works based on their social context. Papers will be double spaced and all references must be cited.
