ECP130 – Law for Communications Operators
The Seneca College Board of Directors has decided to start their own Special
Constable Program in order to police all of their campuses.
By adequacy standards, it would be governed by Ontario Regulation 3/99 as
made under the Police Service Act.
One of the requirements of this Regulation, more specifically Section 5 is to
have adequate support services, including adequate communication services.
You are given a budget of $2,000,000.
In a briefing note to Peter Skrypka, who is overseeing implementation, define
the issue (setting up a communications room), provide some background,
what resources you will require (equipment and staffing for the PSAP), and
what your specific recommendation(s) will be to address this hurdle.
Do not be too technical. Just provide your vision of what you believe Seneca
College should do and why?
