Short Form question prompts
This is the second of five Short Form Science Innovation assignments you will complete this semester, each worth 0.5% of your final grade.All are based on The Conversation articles. The Conversation is an online forum that publishes short articles on a wide variety of topics, including arts and culture, business and economics, education, politics, religion, and most importantly with respect to this assignment, science! The goal of this assignment is to expose you to fascinating discoveries and innovations that have been made in Biology in the last few years, and to get you excited about the very cool research biologists are doing.
Your assignment is to read the four Conversationarticles found at the URLs below, and to answer 5 questions about each of the articles. You must of course use your own words for questions 2-5 and not copy and paste someone else’s answers; doing so will result in a score of 0 for the assignment.There are no right or wrong answers for questions 2-5; the point of these questions is simply to get you to reflect on the science you have read about. Your paper will be graded essentially for completion.
Later this semester you will complete one Long Form Science Innovation Assignment, for which you will provide more in-depth answers for one of the twenty The Conversation articles you will have read this semester. That assignment will be submitted at the end of the semester and will be worth 2.5% of your final grade; instructions on how to complete it will be provided in the next few weeks.
