2- Qualitative Data Analysis

This first assessment asks you to analyse a qualitative data set and present this analysis as a poster (one slide of power point). You then need to write a 750 word reflective account on the process of undertaking your qualitative data analysis. The weighting for this first summative assessment is 40%.

Task 2
Conduct your analysis of the qualitative data and produce a one slide power point of this. In your poster you may want to include elements such as:

-your approach
-your themes and sub themes
-results
-issues of bias or positionality
-and any resources you used for example Nvivo

Task 3
Reflect and report on the process of undertaking the analysis. You can use a reflective model to frame your report, such as Gibbs or Driscoll for example. This part of the assessment has a word limit of 750 (+/- 10%).

Upon successful completion of this module and to pass the written assignments, you will need to meet and demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

2) Critically review qualitative data collection methods including interviewing, focus group discussions, coding and analysis, and evaluation, as applied to health/nursing problems.

3) Apply key techniques in analysis used within qualitative research including consideration and use of appropriate research technologies (e.g. Nvivo) and meta synthesis.

4) Demonstrate understanding and evaluation of the effectiveness and limitations of qualitative research and consider their application within healthcare and nursing

This assignment should be submitted no later than week 6.
