ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This assignment is part of your overall project. However, don’t think of this as a component of your final submission. Think of this as a first step in the direction of the final submission. If you choose so, your final project can be on a completely different topic.
For this assignment, you need to:
– Perform a professional exploration of the mid term future (5-10 years). Consider how contextual macro forces and ongoing trends and megatrends might shape the socio-economic landscape in the future. For the analysis of contextual/macro forces you can use any framework or technique you want (eg., DRIVE, PESTLE, future wheels, Manoa Scenario…). This should result in a short descriptive scenario that highlights any relevant differences between today and the explored future.
– Identify a business opportunity. In the future you’ve explored, new business opportunities will emerge: consumer behaviors, needs and wants, technologies, business models will all change. For your final project, you will describe how your chosen organization will innovatively solve a problem for a clear target market, in order to create and capture value. Again, you can use any framework or technique you want (eg., Job-To-Be-Done, Value Proposition Canvas, Journey Mapping, User Persona, Business Model Canvas …). For this assignment, you only need to describe and explain the opportunity (NOT how it will be exploited).
As you know, for the next stages of this assignment, you will draft a strategic plan to exploit the opportunity. However, for this deliverable, you only need to include the future and the opportunity, and not your intended solution.
