Your Design Documentation (<-- final draft points) The following portions are required (look at Logo Design Love's list of Brand Guidelines for inspirationLinks to an external site.): • Summary statement (25pts) – A brief one or two paragraph statement about the purpose of the project. This should be your Project Pitch, but expanded to a full explanation. (~250-500 words or so). • Technical deployment document (25pts) – This should be one page that describes the technical environment that this project is meant to exist on. Is it a kiosk with a touch screen? A desktop or tablet app? An interactive display in a museum? Sketch how this project will be mounted and deployed. I want a picture of what it'll look like "in the wild," being used, as well as enough narrative to describe it. • User Personas (50pts) – Give me a description of three potential users of the system that will be used to guide your design process (personify them, make them look professional) and at least two considerations for each persona that you took into consideration while developing things. Where do these personas agree? Where do their needs clash? How do you plan to handle that? • UI/UX Specifications (100pts) - I want several pages explaining the major elements of user psychology and design principles (C.R.A.P.) that you took into consideration while building your interfaces, and the flow of your presentation. This is where you can let me into your head space to understand the choices you've made. I want to see sketches of your design choices! Don't just use words. Be visual. Tell me not just what you did, but *why* you did it that way. (And *show* me.) • Screen Wireframes (Mockups of screens with notes) (75pts) – These should be device-appropriate placement guidelines for your main content and navigation elements – where your content and your buttons are laid out across different screens of content. (Read back up on wireframes if you need to!) These should be screen accurate. Use rulers if hand drawn and scanned in, or use an appropriate mock-up tool or library, or at least give me professional, clean lines. (Something close to the mid-fidelity examples from the lecture.) • Block Diagram (a Flow Chart) (75pts) – This should be a map of navigation systems that allow users to navigate the project. (Read back up on block diagrams if you have to!) If there is more than one navigation system, the screen flows should be broken down to describe how the different navigation elements work. (i.e., show a hierarchy for your menu and linear or interconnected web for sub-sections with arrows that show how the user can maneuver between each screen). Each node on your diagram must be properly labeled, and the arrows should be accurate to how you plan on implementing it (remember the example I gave you in the Pirate Lab!). • Typography (Show off your font) (25pts) - typefaces, point size, weight, colors and how they are used. Include a font sheet to show off your typefaces and weights. We've done this before. • Color schemes (Show the colors!) (25pts) - You must have a description of your color scheme and why you chose it, the RGB and Hex codes of all colors, and full guidelines for how you plan to use the colors you chose. PreviousNext
