General Instructions
It is important to recognize that classroom management is critical to any lesson. A plan allows you to be proactive rather than reactive to student demands and behaviors. Having a plan is important, but it is essential to remain flexible. Develop a management plan appropriate for the range of grade levels and/or content area you wish to teach. For each of the following, justify and back up your ideas with research and/or relevant theorists.
Identify the grade level range and/or content area you plan to teach.
Describe what your classroom environment would look like. Include classroom management maps to clarify your description.
Describe your classroom rules. How are they developed? What do they include? How are they communicated?
Describe your classroom procedures:
Transitions (both procedural and academic)
Lesson structure (beginning, middle, and end)
Student contributions to the management of the classroom
Time Constraints/time management
Verbal and non-verbal reactions to positive and negative student behavior
Links to several suggested resources are provided in the folder below. This list is not exhaustive; you are limited only by the time that you are willing and able to spend on the plan.
Refer to the attached scoring guide. It will be used for reviewing purposes. An assigned grade of Complete or Incomplete will be given. Incomplete indicates the Signature Assessment needs improvement prior to placing the completed piece into your Blackboard course shell for Signature Assessments.
Submission Instructions
Upload your completed Classroom Management Signature Assessment here. Place all three parts of your Assessment into a single document. Separate each part into three sections.

Your instructor will use the included scoring guide for assessment. A score of 30-40 will indicate Complete, while a score below 30 will indicate Incomplete (Needs Improvement). Students who receive an Incomplete must submit a revised Signature Assessment. The SA must be scored Complete before a student may progress in the program.
