

]Guidelines for Christian Worldview Essay
As part of the requirements for BTS 4003, each student will write a 4–6 page essay applying the Christian worldview to their academic discipline. The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines for this essay.
Formatting and Style
1. Double spaced
2. 1” margins
3. 12 pt Times New Roman font
4. No extra spacing between paragraphs
5. Include a title page that includes the title of your essay, name, course title, professor’s name, and date of submission.
6. Student may use citation style of preference, but must use it consistently.
Content
-Student should answer the following questions (adapted from Smith & Stonestreet, Restoring All Things, 25–26) in their essay:
1. What is good, true, and beautiful in your academic discipline that you can promote, protect, and celebrate?
2. What is missing in your academic discipline that you can creatively contribute?
3. What is evil or false in your academic discipline that you can stop?
4. What is broken in your academic discipline that you can restore?
-Student should include an engaging introduction and a thoughtful conclusion to their essay.
Grading
Essays will be evaluated based on content, depth, interaction with credible sources, clarity, organization, and grammar.
Submission
1. All essays will be submitted electronically on CampusWeb through Chalk & Wire.
2. Save your document according to the following filename format: Last Name_First Initial_Essay Title.
3. Essays will be graded electronically and returned to the student on CampusWeb.
Other Important Information
1. Beware of plagiarism. If it is not your thought and/or phrase, cite your source. It is important to exercise great care in this area.
2. Essays should demonstrate significant interaction with credible sources, but the student should avoid an overdependence on other sources. In particular, students should interact with key biblical texts related to their topics.
3. This is not a group project. Your essay should be your work.
4. Proofread, proofread, proofread! Points will be deducted for grammatical errors.
5. I strongly encourage every student to meet with the Writing Center.
