2- Article Summary

This project has two parts:

Part A) Written Paper + Separate One Page Summary

-“Written Paper” (Sometimes I’ll refer to it as your ‘final paper’.) It must be a minimum of 4 pages in length and incorporate the components listed below*. You will then consolidate the detailed information contained in the paper into a…

-One-page summary document. (These two components will be turned in separately.)

You can think of the paper as the detailed owner’s manual that might come with a new product and the one page summary document as more of a ‘quick-start’ guide.

The one page summary should be visually appealing with images, and bulleted major points. It’s intended to give readers a quick overview of the system in an attractive one page format.

Part B) Creative Component

In addition to the paper and one page summary, you must also use one of the following for your final project as a creative component:

A self-produced video (YouTube…?)
A 3-D model of your system which you label and photograph
A children’s book
A Costume
A Song
A videotaped skit
Other? Use your imagination!!

*You MUST include the following in your paper (Part A).

Give an overall sense of the organization and function of the body system you chose. You MUST include the following:
A detailed explanation of the system’s purpose.
A detailed description of the organs that make up the system.
A detailed explanation of the function of the organs that make up the system.
Diagram(s) and/or illustration(s) of the system.
Cite the sources for your images. An image in your paper should not just be a space filler. It should serve a purpose and be referenced in the text of your paper. In other words, refer your readers to the image for information about what you are writing about.
The relationship of this system to at least two other body systems.
A detailed explanation of the medical problems/diseases that can be associated with this system.
Your paper needs to be a minimum of four pages.
That means four pages of meaningful text. The title page, works cited/reference page, images, and/or large blank spaces on pages do NOT count toward the four page requirement. You should always carry your writing beyond four pages as a safety measure. Ending a paper half way down the fourth page is not a four page paper; that is three and a half pages.
Use at LEAST four (4) sources. Citation in APA format is required.
You MUST make certain that everything is in your OWN words. In text citations are required. Whenever you write something in your text that you learned from a particular source you need to immediately cite the source. A typical in-text citation is the authors last name followed by the year of publication like this: (Sholar, 2019).

For the proper way to cite all types of sources you can check an online citation guide such as:
